Guide

Where is my reference number?

⚡ Electricity bills (all DISCOs)

Your 14-digit reference number is printed in the top-left block of the bill, under "Reference No." It stays the same every month, so you only need one old bill — even a photo of it.

XX XXXXX XXXXXXX

🔥 Gas bills (SNGPL / SSGC)

SNGPL uses an 11-digit consumer number printed at the top of the bill. SSGC uses a 12-digit customer number. The checker adjusts the required length automatically when you pick the company.

XXXXXXXXXXX

💧 Water bills (WASA / KW&SC)

Use the account number printed beside your name and address. WASA account numbers vary by city; the checker validates the format for the city you select.

🧾 No old bill at all?

Sign in and search by CNIC — if the connection is registered in your name, we can find the reference number for you through the department lookup.

Utility bill questions

Is checking my bill free?

Yes — bill inquiry is completely free with no login required. CitizenPay.pk never charges a fee itself; if you pay through a redirected gateway, any convenience fee is set and shown by that gateway before you confirm.

I just paid but the official site still shows my bill as unpaid — why?

Payment status is tracked by your utility provider, not by CitizenPay.pk. Bank and wallet payments usually reflect within a few minutes, but near due dates the provider's own system can take up to 24 hours to update. Your payment receipt from the gateway you paid through is valid proof of payment in the meantime.

Can I pay after the due date?

Usually yes, with a late-payment surcharge added — your provider's official bill-check page will show both the on-time and after-due-date amounts. CitizenPay.pk does not charge or process anything itself; the exact rules depend on your provider.

Can I check bills for multiple houses or shops?

Yes — there's no limit. Just repeat the check for each reference number; a free CitizenPay.pk account lets you label and save connections like "Home" or "Shop" for quicker access.

Do you show the full consumer name?

No. To protect privacy, names are partially masked on lookup results, exactly as utility companies do on their own inquiry systems.
