Guide

Where is my reference number?

⚡ Electricity bills (all DISCOs)

Your 14-digit reference number is printed in the top-left block of the bill, under "Reference No." It stays the same every month, so you only need one old bill — even a photo of it.

XX XXXXX XXXXXXX

🔥 Gas bills (SNGPL / SSGC)

SNGPL uses an 11-digit consumer number printed at the top of the bill. SSGC uses a 12-digit customer number. The checker adjusts the required length automatically when you pick the company.

XXXXXXXXXXX

💧 Water bills (WASA / KW&SC)

Use the account number printed beside your name and address. WASA account numbers vary by city; the checker validates the format for the city you select.

🧾 No old bill at all?

Sign in and search by CNIC — if the connection is registered in your name, we can find the reference number for you through the department lookup.

Utility bill questions

Is checking my bill free?

Yes — bill inquiry is completely free with no login required. CitizenPay.pk never charges a fee itself; if you pay through a redirected gateway, any convenience fee is set and shown by that gateway before you confirm.

My bill shows PAID but I just paid an hour ago — why?

Bank and wallet payments usually reflect within a few minutes through 1LINK, but during peak days (near due dates) the company's system can take up to 24 hours to update. Your payment receipt from the gateway you paid through is valid proof of payment in the meantime.

Can I pay after the due date?

Yes. The checker shows both amounts — payable within due date and after due date (with late-payment surcharge). The correct amount is charged automatically based on the payment date.

Can I check bills for multiple houses or shops?

Yes — save each connection with a label like "Home", "Shop" or "Office" in your dashboard, and check or pay them all from one screen with a single reminder schedule for each.

Do you show the full consumer name?

No. To protect privacy, names are partially masked on lookup results, exactly as utility companies do on their own inquiry systems.
